Cliffs Residents Outreach by Community

About Us.

Since 2007, Cliffs Residents Outreach (CRO), a 501(c)(3), nonprofit corporation, has been committed to the mission of “Providing resources to regional children that promote opportunities for lifelong success.” While we support a wide variety of student programs, our focus centers on funding initiatives that relate to education and human services.

CRO is comprised of five Communities that represent The Cliffs’ South Carolina Communities of Glassy, Valley & Mountain Park, Keowee Vineyards, Keowee Falls & Keowee Springs. Representatives from each of these Communities serve as Directors of the CRO Corporate Board. Each Community has a volunteer Advisory Council that works independently to support the needs of their local schools through fundraising and volunteering, all aligning with one consistent mission – enabling Upstate children to succeed.

The success of CRO is measured by the many benefits we have provided to our community school students. Through the generosity of our residents and community service partners, and the services of our committed volunteers, we have seen great things happen in our local schools.

Quotes from Upstate School Superintendents:

Members of Cliffs Residents Outreach have poured tremendous resources into a number of Greenville County Schools in the northern part of our county, providing academic enrichment opportunities for students, necessities for families in crisis, tutoring and pantry items for students in poverty, and programs for at risk youth. Their generosity has funded a diverse variety of items, from playground equipment, Chrome books, charging carts, athletic and weight room equipment, emergency funding for families in crisis, and field trip sponsorships, to food pantries for families facing hunger. Without a doubt, the entire Greenville County population owes a debt of gratitude to Cliffs Residents Outreach for their enthusiastic support of this community’s most precious resource – our children.
Dr. Burke Royster
Superintendent of Greenville County Schools
Several years ago, Tamassee-Salem Elementary benefited from the "One for All" program that provided a technology device for every student at the school. This program was funded by the Cliffs Residents Outreach and was very successful in helping many students get a leg up academically that they would not have gotten otherwise. After this early success at TSE, our district is now in the process of providing a technology device for each student in all of our schools. We are very thankful for the commitment that the Cliffs Residents Outreach has shown by helping students in Oconee County and look forward to many years of working together to help students and their families.
Dr. Michael Thorsland
Superintendent of Oconee County Schools
The School District of Pickens County appreciates the support of the Cliffs Residents Outreach program and what is has provided to our school district. Our students are benefiting from the AT&T grant which began with the efforts of the Cliffs Residents Outreach. In addition to the AT&T grant support, Cliffs Residents Outreach provided a lovely reception following the AT&T announcement for our schools and community members, provided 1:1 devices and the PALS (Parents As Learners) program at Holly Springs Elementary School and now is continuing the efforts at Pickens Elementary School. Our district is grateful for the time, support and partnership of the Cliffs Residents Outreach program and what they have contributed to our kids and schools.
Dr. Danny Merck
Superintendent of Pickens County Schools
